These eyes that have seen,
Much of love and lust,
That have seen what could be,
What had been, what must.

These eyes that have seen,
Much of greed and love of gain,
That have seen the frustration,
The jealousy, the anger and the pain.

These eyes that have seen,
Also many hearts yearn and ache,
That have seen pairs twisted by fear,
And mistrust of what was fake.

These eyes see only the beauty today,
Only the wonder and amazement and awe,
And the love, above all the love,
The most true and frank these eyes ever saw.
