I did a B.Tech in Information Technology not so long ago and used to have classes similar to this .. But over the course of time - i guess during the III rd year, i quit taking notes - i realised that this isnt the way things are to be done - for instance how can you "teach" something like Programming ?? Ok - i accept the point of teaching DataStructures and other stuff, but programming .. All languages are built using the same principles, and as far as the actual syntax goes, well i guess people are smart enough to master it sooner rather than later !! Wonder when people framing the syllabus will ever get some sense !!! Wish they teach Logic and Reasoning (like those old days of Rome)
And aneeways, coming to the nitty gritty, Perl is rarely used in Software industry today. The other course looked interesting(PRDB) but sadly it also fails to live up to it's promise - syllabus is too shallow(for want of a better word)
uh....okay, i guess. this is for the benefit of people in my class, not for spreading the message of PRDB and PERL. No-one expects you to study this stuff and get a job. This is just an introduction. Resources for further and self-study are included in the syllabus.
Society, you're a crazy breed.
And I don't belong here.
And I'm a creep, I'm a wierdo.
And I don't want the world to see me, cause I don't think that they'd understand. For when everything's meant to be broken, I just want you to know who I am.
In the end:
I get knocked down, but I get up again. You're never gonna keep me down. I get knocked down....
